The Challenge
GPC Papier et Carton, part of Ynna Holding and the leading paper and packaging company in Morocco, needed to modernize their printing capabilities to meet growing demand from the agri-food sector, where packaging visual quality is critical for export to European markets.
With a current capacity of approximately 90,000 tonnes of corrugated packaging per year, the company plans to reach 160,000 tonnes by 2030. This expansion requires printing technology capable of combining industrial productivity with digital graphic quality.
The Solution
They added Africa's first Kento Hybrid® as part of a total investment of MAD 500 million (~€55M) for the comprehensive modernization of their Mohammedia plant.
Hybrid technology allows GPC to offer digital-quality graphic packaging for agri-food export products while maintaining the productivity and competitive costs of flexography for high volumes.
Results
The installation positions GPC as Africa's first converter with digital-flexo hybrid technology, anticipating the demands of their export clients who require packaging with European graphic standards. The investment is part of a strategic plan that will double the company's production capacity.
